9 AI Tools for Content Creation in 2025 (Free & Paid) – DemandSage

People used to write manually for years. Not long ago, AI came into the equation, and everything has changed since. People started using AI tools for content creation. Some of them rely entirely on it, while others use it to improve quality and enhance their own content.
Even 82% of companies and businesses admitted to being involved with AI in some way. And guess what? Google has no problem with AI content as long as it meets their standards and resolves readers’ queries.
Using AI is not an issue – the main problem is finding the right AI tool that can generate quality content. Not just random generic content like, “In today’s fast-paced world”, “whether you are a businessman or student”, blah, blah, blah!
At Demandsage, my team and I also used some industry-specific tools, not just for content creation, but also for generating content ideas, creating images, and editing videos. After lots of trial and error, we found the 9 best AI tools for content creation and other repetitive tasks.
Let’s have a look at them.
Here is the list that I am going to review. Have a quick look at them, then I will move to the detailed description:
You can also check out our video on the top 3 tools for AI content writing:
Now, let’s know why you should put your trust in these tools.
Claude is one of the most underrated AI tools of all. I can tell because I have been using Claude since late 2023. Even when it was not publicly available to everyone, the content generation and the quality were unmatched.
This conversational AI chatbot by Anthropic is trained to process long-form content, including generating code, summarizing texts, and handling text-based interactions.
I have seen Claude improve over the last two years. It can read huge files and collect data and information to provide a summary or add information to your final draft. It can even read images and draw information from them. The only thing dragging behind in the race is its inability to read URLs, links, or a video.
Last month, they launched the newest Sonnet 4 and Opus 4 models, which are way more powerful than previous models. Apart from writing, you can now generate large code completions, data analysis, and even create a project for repetitive tasks.
You can try the updated features with the free version. But it often hits the usage limit soon. Even with the Pro plan, we sometimes get notifications like “message limit reached for Claude Sonnet 4”. It is frustrating for people like me who are handling a team. But it’s not for the whole day, they show you a time when the limits will be restored.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Claude?
If you’re focused on creating in-depth, research-heavy content, Claude is your best bet. It excels at processing large amounts of information and maintaining context throughout long conversations. Perfect for writers who need an AI that can handle complex, nuanced content without losing track of details.
Pricing: $20/month
ChatGPT can do everything, almost all the tasks of the AI tools I have listed in this post. What do we say? Yes, Jack of all Trades. ChatGPT is that capable.
When used correctly, you can generate long-form content with personalization, do keyword optimization, and even add images – all in one chat for a single post.
As I said, when used correctly, you need to be smart enough to play with the prompts to get the desired results. You need to figure out the right prompts for a specific task.
Suppose you are writing a blog on “best music biopics of all time.” You can’t just give it a simple prompt – “Write a blog on the best music biopics of all time. Create a list of 10”. That’s too obvious; anybody can do it.
Obviously, research should be a part of your prompt. You need to find out trending keywords and what competitors are listing. At least a basic outline with specific instructions can make your job easy.
The new memory feature is a standout among all. If you are working on a project, you can simply feed in information, and it will remember all the details, even if you open a new chat.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for ChatGPT?
Look, ChatGPT is like that friend who can do everything – maybe not perfectly, but well enough. If you want one tool that can handle everything from writing blog posts to generating images to coding, this is it. The plugin ecosystem and custom GPTs make it incredibly versatile for any content creator who needs multiple functionalities in one place.
Pricing: $20/month for the Pro plan.
Grammarly has been around longer than most AI writing tools, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s outdated. I’ve been using Grammarly for over five years now, and honestly, it has saved me from countless embarrassing typos and awkward sentences. Not kidding, I am using it right now, writing this post.
What sets Grammarly apart isn’t just the grammar checking. It’s the AI-powered writing suggestions that actually make sense. Unlike other tools that sometimes suggest changes that sound robotic, Grammarly understands context. When I’m writing a casual blog post versus a professional email, it adapts its suggestions accordingly.
The new AI writing assistant feature is where things get interesting. It can help you rewrite entire paragraphs, adjust tone, and even suggest better word choices. I particularly love the clarity suggestions. Sometimes, you write something that’s technically correct but sounds confusing, and Grammarly catches that.
The only downside? The free version is quite limited. You’ll need the premium version to unlock the real power, but at $12/month, it’s worth every penny if writing is a significant part of your work. New users can also get an additional 25% Grammarly discount on top of the annual discount.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Grammarly?
If polishing and perfecting your writing is crucial, Grammarly is non-negotiable. It’s not just about catching typos anymore. It’s about making your writing clearer, more engaging, and ideally suited to your audience. Essential for anyone who publishes content professionally.
Pricing: $12/month (if paid annually)
Jasper AI is where things get serious. It’s definitely not the cheapest option, but if you’re running a marketing team or agency, the investment pays off quickly. I have been using Jasper AI since it was known as Jarvis.AI. Check out how I used it effectively to create content in my detailed Jasper AI review.
What impressed me most about Jasper is its template library. They have over 50 templates for different content types, from Facebook ads to email sequences to long-form blog posts. But here’s the thing: don’t just rely on the templates. The real magic happens when you train Jasper on your brand voice and style.
We spent about a week feeding Jasper examples of our best content, and the results were remarkable. It was Jasper’s Boss Mode then, which is not currently available. It started producing content that actually sounded like us, not like a generic AI bot. Good thing, these features are included with the new Jasper pricing plans, which are way more affordable than previous ones.
Jasper’s 7-day free trial is generous enough to really test it out. Use this to experiment with different templates and see if it fits your workflow before committing to the monthly fee.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Jasper AI?
Jasper is expensive – let’s not sugarcoat that. At $49/month, it better be good, right? And honestly, it is, but only if you’re serious about this. But here’s my advice: use that 7-day trial properly. Don’t just play around, really test it with your actual content needs. If you’re a solo creator on a tight budget, there are other affordable alternatives you can try.
Pricing: Starting at $49/month
I’ll be honest – I used to think Canva was just for people who couldn’t afford professional design software. I was wrong. With its AI integration options, Canva has become a powerhouse for visual content creation.
The Magic Design feature is incredible. You literally upload an image or give it a prompt, and it creates multiple design variations in seconds. We consistently use Canva for creating YouTube thumbnails, social media graphics, blog featured images, and presentation slides.
But the real winner is the AI image generator. It’s not as sophisticated as Midjourney or DALL-E, but for quick, professional-looking images that match your brand colors and style, it’s perfect. Along with that, thousands of templates are there, you can edit them anytime and get yourself a desired copy.
They used to offer a 30-day free trial, but sadly, it is not available anymore. The free version gives you plenty to work with, but the Pro plan unlocks the full AI features and removes those irritating watermarks.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Canva?
Visual content is non-negotiable; you need to admit it. Canva makes professional design accessible to everyone, regardless of design skills. If you need to create social media graphics, blog images, presentations, or any visual content quickly and professionally, Canva is your solution.
Pricing: Canva Pro – $12.99/month
Google’s Gemini often gets overlooked because people immediately think of ChatGPT when they need AI assistance. That’s a mistake. Gemini excels at one thing that I find crucial for content creation: brainstorming and ideation. It would be wrong to put Gemini and ChatGPT on the same page.
I love cricket and writing blogs for it. Here’s how Gemini piled up new and trending keyword ideas when searched for “give me some keyword ideas on ongoing IPL”.
Whenever I’m stuck on content ideas or need a fresh perspective on a topic, I use Gemini exactly like this. As you can see, it approaches problems differently from ChatGPT. Sometimes more methodically, sometimes with surprising creative leaps that spark new directions for my content.
The integration with Google Workspace is seamless if you’re already in that ecosystem. I can brainstorm ideas in Gemini and then immediately start outlining in Google Docs without switching between platforms.
Since it’s free, there’s really no reason not to have it in your toolkit. I use it primarily for the initial creative phase of content planning, then switch to other tools for actual content creation.
The beauty of having multiple AI tools isn’t about finding the “one perfect tool” – it’s about knowing which tool excels at which task and building a workflow that each one’s strengths.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Gemini?
If you’re already in the Google ecosystem, Gemini offers seamless integration that other tools can’t match. It’s particularly strong at brainstorming and research, and since it’s free, it’s perfect as a secondary tool for ideation and initial research phases of content creation.
Pricing: Free. Gemini Advanced at $20/month
Surfer SEO is where content creation meets SEO strategy, and honestly, it’s been a virtual partner for our organic traffic. Oh, I forgot to mention that it was our first AI-powered SEO tool that we used for all our on-page SEO operations. Find out how we used it to its fullest in our detailed Surfer SEO review
It’s not cheap, but when you see your content consistently ranking higher, the return on investment (ROI) becomes clear.
What I love about Surfer is how it takes the guesswork out of SEO writing. Instead of hoping your content will rank, Surfer analyzes the top-performing pages for your target keyword and gives you a roadmap to compete with them. It tells you exactly how many times to use specific keywords, what related terms to include, and even suggests the ideal content length.
The content humanizer feature is what I like the most, and for a very obvious reason. It helps make AI-generated content sound more natural and less robotic, a quality that’s becoming increasingly important as Google’s algorithms become smarter.
If the budget is not an issue, the best use case scenario is using Surfer SEO with Jasper AI. With Jasper, you can create high-quality humanized content, whereas Surfer will SEO-optimize it for better rankings.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Surfer SEO?
If organic traffic is crucial to your content strategy, Surfer SEO is essential. It takes the guesswork out of SEO writing by providing data-driven recommendations. Perfect for content creators who need their articles to rank high on Google and compete effectively in search results.
Pricing: Starting at $99/month
Frase AI approaches content creation from a different angle, which is competitive intelligence. With 10K free AI words and generous offerings with their pricing plans, it’s positioned perfectly between budget and premium tools.
What sets Frase apart is its ability to analyze what’s already working in your niche and help you create something better. It doesn’t just generate content; it researches your topic thoroughly, analyzes top-ranking pages, and creates content briefs that give you a real competitive advantage.
I particularly appreciate how Frase presents research. Instead of overwhelming you with data, it organizes insights into actionable content outlines. It’s like having a research assistant who not only finds information but also tells you how to use it effectively.
You know what, it’s better to check real-time use cases. We have experimented with this tool in various ways. Get a gist of our tests (and hacks that we tried) in our detailed Frase review
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Frase AI?
Frase is ideal for content creators who want to outrank competitors strategically. It combines research, analysis, and content creation in one platform. If you need to understand what’s already working in your niche and create something better, Frase provides the competitive intelligence you need.

Perplexity is the research tool I wish I had discovered earlier. While other AI tools work with training data that might be months or years old, Perplexity pulls real-time information from the web and cites its sources. This is why I and 15 million other users trust Perplexity
Most of the time, my team works on sourcing data for stats, and Perplexity is a major part of it. See, collecting data from various sources one by one can be hectic. This magical free tool lines up all the data with real-time sources.
What makes Perplexity special is its approach to sourcing. Every piece of information comes with citations, so you can verify facts and dive deeper into topics. It’s like having a research assistant who not only finds answers but also shows you where those answers came from.
The free version is surprisingly powerful, and since accuracy is crucial for content creation, having access to real-time, cited information is invaluable.
Key Features:
Why You Should Go for Perplexity?
When accuracy and current information are critical, Perplexity is unmatched. It’s perfect for content creators who need to include the latest data, statistics, or news in their content. The citation feature ensures you can verify and credit sources properly, making it essential for research-heavy content.
Pricing: Free to use. Pro and Enterprise plans cost $20/month and $40/month, respectively.
There you have it. These are the best AI content creation tools among all I have tested and used so far. It won’t be fair if I say “this particular” tool is the best because each of them excels at something that others don’t.
If you are like me, who believes in “try before you buy”, consider trying their free version or free trial before going straight for the paid version. I have premium subscriptions to all these tools, but I tried their free version to see if they are worth paying for.
