Google is rolling out the latest updates for the Fitbit Versa 4, Sense 2, Inspire 3, and Charge 6, which sees the biggest updates today.
The Fitbit Charge 6 adds three new watch faces today. Google says they are “designed to provide you with more comprehensive data at a glance, and allow for quick access to key health and fitness metrics directly from your wrist.”
Fitbit also notes how this update “expands compatibility between Fitbit Charge 6 devices and exercise machines.” This lets you see real-time heart rate on a “wider variety of equipment.” Google maintains the following “tested and confirmed connectivity for the latest models” list:
Meanwhile, Garmin, Life Fitness, and TechnoGym are “known manufacturers that are not compatible with Charge 6.”
The Charge 6, as well as the Inspire 3, Versa 4, and Sense 2, will get “general bug fixes and improvements.” This follows the last update in February.

Samsung is now delivering software updates to its Galaxy devices faster than ever before. This is a big improvement for users who, in the past, had to wait months to get the latest Android updates. The reason behind this speed boost is a major change in how Samsung develops its software, as it is now moving to a new system called trunk-based development.
Thanks to this Trunk Stable model, Samsung was able to release One UI 8 based on Android 16, just one month after Google’s official release of Android 16. Even more impressively, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 phones are the first devices to launch with Android 16, even ahead of Google’s own Pixel phones.
Previously, Samsung used a branch-based development model, where each new Android version was built separately in a different branch of code. While this allowed teams to work on new features, it also created problems.
When it was time to combine the new branch with the main code, bugs known as merge conflicts would often appear. Fixing these took a lot of time and slowed down the update process.
According to information via Mishaal Rahman, Samsung has adopted the trunk-based model, a method that Google also uses to develop Android. In this model, all development happens in one stable version of the software. New features are added in the background using feature flags, which keep them hidden until they are fully ready.

Google has added a new feature to its Search widget on Android phones that makes it easier to use AI tools. The new feature, AI Mode, is now available to more users, including those using Samsung and other Android phones.
With the new app update, you’ll see a small circle icon appear next to the voice search (microphone) and Google Lens icons in the Google Search bar on your homescreen. When you tap this icon, it opens AI Mode, which lets you ask questions or type prompts to get smart answers from Google’s AI.
To enable this feature, just press and hold the Google Search bar widget on your phone’s homescreen. Then choose “Customize” and go to “Shortcuts.” You’ll see an option to add “AI Mode.” Once it’s added, you can quickly open AI Mode anytime, right from your homescreen.
