WordPress.com is expanding its platform with an integrated AI assistant to make work easier for web designers and content creators. The new assistant not only supports the design and structure of entire websites, but also helps with creating and editing text and images. This extension takes automation on WordPress one step further and opens up new possibilities for more efficient work directly in the editor and in team chat.
The new WordPress AI assistant is integrated into the website editor and supports design decisions and the page structure. For example, users can give the assistant instructions such as “show me more fonts that look professional” or “change the colors of my site to stronger, brighter tones”. The tool analyzes the existing design and can make suggestions that match the current branding.
In addition, the assistant can directly reword texts to make them appear clearer or more self-confident. In addition to text support, the AI Assistant now also offers the ability to edit images within the WordPress media library. The wizard understands the visual concept of the website and creates content that fits seamlessly into the existing design.

The function is activated via the website settings in the “AI Tools” section. For users who have already created their website with the AI Builder, the wizard is automatically activated. The tool works best with modern block themes; classic themes only offer limited support.
