Lazada PH sellers learn about AI tools, marketing – The Manila Times

E-COMMERCE platform Lazada Philippines recently flew in a number of its top sellers to the Alibaba campus in Hangzhou, China, for an executive education program.
The program, a collaboration with the Alibaba Global Initiative and the electronic World Trade Platform, engaged participants from the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam in immersive learning sessions on digital marketing, artificial intelligence practices, and cross-border brand building.
Site visits to innovation hubs like the Alibaba Museum, DeepRobotics, Shenhao Technology, and Future Park Exhibition Hall provided first-hand exposure to technologies shaping global e-commerce.
AI tools promote fair competition for smaller businesses, Lazada pointed out, saying that, for instance, tasks that have been time-consuming or expensive, such as writing product captions and enhancing images, can now be done faster and more efficiently with AI tools.
“What I saw in China was five years into the future. What Lazada is offering, especially in AI and data, we’re not far behind. It’s an exciting time to be part of this transformation,” said Tin Montinola of Bench Philippines.
“Lazada makes it easy to start a business, but it doesn’t stop there. The AI tools, the business insights, they help you keep growing. Every step of the way, it’s like having a coach built into the platform,“ added Grace Cruz, founder of perfume brand Scent Swatch.
“AI helps you know your customers better, what they need, and how to deliver it. It’s not just about selling more. It’s about selling smarter,” said Gabby Recto of Ready for Great Business.
“For many brands on LazMall, artificial intelligence is transforming how they manage inventory, forecast demand, and connect with customers,” Lazada said.
LazMall offers a curated selection of leading international and local brands, top-rated online brands, and authorized brand distributors.
“Our investments in AI are designed to empower all sellers, whether they come from established brands or are first-time entrepreneurs. Integrating AI into core parts of the platform helps them make informed decisions and boost efficiency, and ultimately enrich experiences for both sellers and customers,” explained Pauline Castro, user product operations head at Lazada Philippines.
“The future of e-commerce is about more than technology; it’s about people. By integrating intelligent tools, learning resources, and real-world experiences, we’re building an ecosystem where every Filipino seller can succeed,” said Carlos Barrera, Lazada Philippines CEO.
