The research, conducted by SEO consultant Adam Berry, compared international search patterns for three widely used AI platforms: ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Claude AI.
The analysis reveals significant regional variations in AI platform preferences and adoption rates. For ChatGPT searches, the United States leads with approximately 28 million monthly searches, followed by Vietnam with around 24 million searches and India with roughly 20 million. Indonesia also demonstrates strong interest with approximately 19 million monthly searches, while several European countries including France, Spain, and Italy show comparatively lower search volumes.
The research identified notably different patterns when examining other AI platforms. Claude AI search data shows India ranking first globally with approximately 846,000 monthly searches, followed by the United States with around 812,000 searches and Indonesia with roughly 635,000 searches. Google’s Gemini platform displays yet another regional distribution, with the United States generating around 6.8 million monthly searches, Brazil approximately 6.3 million, and India roughly 4.9 million.

Indonesia ranks among the top countries searching for ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude AI, suggesting robust interest in generative AI technologies across the region. Meanwhile, the United States maintains high search volumes across all platforms, though its relative ranking varies by tool.
These findings emerge as businesses worldwide increasingly integrate AI tools into their operations. The data suggests that while global interest in AI tools continues to grow rapidly, different regions demonstrate distinct preferences for specific platforms. This regional variation has implications for technology companies developing AI tools and businesses considering international AI strategy implementation.
