Android 16 July update rolling out with just two Pixel fixes – 9to5Google
The first monthly update to Android 16 is rolling out with the July security patch for the Pixel 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, and 9a.
Surprisingly, there are “no Android security patches” in the Android 16 July patch dated 2025-07-01 or 2025-07-05. Similarly, the dedicated bulletin for Google devices lists “no Pixel security patches.”
There’s also no update for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, while this is the mandatory battery update for the Pixel 6a that enables “important battery management features that will reduce battery capacity and charging performance on Impacted Devices after the battery reaches 400 charge cycles.”
With just one build today, the OTA on a Pixel 9 Pro is 35.42 MB.
