Renault enhances Austral, Espace, and Rafale hybrids with Qi2 wireless charging, Google Gemini voice assistant, and Smart mode. Get details on pricing and features.
Renault has rolled out technical updates for its hybrid models—the Austral, Espace, and Rafale—ahead of the new model year. These changes cover both equipment and software enhancements.
A key addition is a Qi2 wireless charging device with magnetic technology similar to MagSafe. It offers fast smartphone charging, reaching up to 50% in an hour without overheating. Older devices can still be charged using a magnetic ring or case.
The OpenR Link multimedia system now includes a mobile data package: owners receive 2 GB per month for three years to use apps from Google Play. This allows for streaming music or watching videos without needing a smartphone connection.
Via an over-the-air update, the system integrates the Google Gemini voice assistant, replacing Google Assistant. It supports conversational control and handles more complex commands.
A new Smart mode has also been introduced, automatically switching Multi-Sense settings between Eco, Comfort, and Sport based on driving style. Pricing starts at €39,450 for the Austral, €44,000 for the Espace, and €44,000 for the Rafale.
