Apple Faces Pressure Over Google Search Revenue and Other Important Updates – TradingView
Court: N.D. California
Case: 4:19-cv-02033
Apple AAPL may be forced to rethink one of its most lucrative partnerships as the U.S. Department of Justice moves to block Google’s $20 billion annual payments to remain Safari’s default search engine.
This revenue represents roughly 5% of Apple’s total and a quarter of its services segment — a key growth driver. If the ruling stands, Apple could lose a major source of passive income, just as it seeks to expand its own AI and search capabilities.
In other news, Apple is still paying $490M to investors over the scandal with Tim Cook hiding declining iPhone demand in China in 2019. The filing deadline was some time ago, but it’s still accepting late claims for it. You can check the details and file your here.
