Google just dropped a new update for its Now Playing app on Pixel devices.
While most of the changes are behind-the-scenes fixes, some users have spotted a fresh lock screen prompt: “Tap to see what’s playing”—making it easier to identify songs right from your lock screen.
There’s also a new lock screen shortcut and Quick Settings tile, with the 2×1 Quick Settings Tile replacing the old silent notification.
Not everyone has these features yet, but Google seems to be testing them out.
Bigger updates are expected soon, possibly letting you favorite tracks or jump straight into your music app when you spot something you like, so keep an eye out with future Pixel Drops!
