Google is rolling out its Pixel update for April, and it’s largely targeting a bunch of annoying bugs.
The Pixel 10 maker is arguably the best in the business when it comes to rolling out new features on a regular basis, but it’s fair to say that April’s Pixel update is not an all-timer.
Following March’s more significant Pixel Drop, this month’s release addresses more practical concerns.
Google’s release notes mention a fix for a bug that saw the Backup menu going missing in certain scenarios, as well as one that saw certain banking and third-party apps crashing.
Gamers will be pleased to note that Google has addressed an annoying game crash bug, while any Pixel users who have noticed the quick search bar going missing in certain situations will be glad to know that Google has fixed it.
Finally, there was an issue whereby the Quick Share function would crash during certain file transfers. Never ideal, that one – especially at a time when Apple’s AirDrop is being introduced into the equation.
Google’s latest fixes have commenced rolling out to all Pixel devices from the Google Pixel 6 right through to the recently released Google Pixel 10a. It’ll make its way out to all compatible phones in phases over the coming week.
Outside of Google’s own Pixel phones, the company is also patching up any security vulnerabilities in the core Android OS.
Realistically, we’re expecting the next major Pixel update to come in June, when the first proper version of Android 17 is expected to arrive.
