Introducing Toast's AI-powered Toast IQ Team for labor optimization and IQ Grow for marketing growth strategies.
Toast IQ Team and Toast IQ Grow represent Toast’s latest AI-powered additions to its restaurant and retail management platform, aiming respectively at refining labor operations and accelerating guest acquisition and retention. These two tools integrate intelligence, automation, and expert support to assist businesses in labor-heavy scheduling and marketing-heavy growth, addressing key challenges for small and multi-location operations alike.
Toast IQ Team is Labor Management Software for restaurants and retailers designed to optimize workforce operations through advanced scheduling, payroll, and performance tools. It leverages AI agents to build schedules based on projected sales and staff availability, reducing overtime and aligning labor with demand. Integrated tools include Payroll Processing & Tax Filing, a rights-based scheduling module, Tips Manager for automated tip pooling, contests and performance tracking, and benefits management for employees. The MyToast employee app allows for shift swapping, viewing earnings, and managing schedules. Clock-in and clock-out data syncs directly with the POS to help avoid manual reconciliation. There is also dedicated support from Payroll Success Partners. The system includes agents that provide automated alerts—like detecting missed breaks, overtime, or unusual discount patterns—and "digest" reports, such as labor running hot or a morning briefing.
Toast IQ Grow is a growth and lifecycle solution that combines AI with human support from a dedicated Marketing Success Manager to manage marketing across multiple channels. Features include digital storefront tools (custom websites, commission-free online ordering, and Toast Delivery Services), Toast Advertising Pro (for campaigns on Google, Facebook, Instagram with no ad spend fees), loyalty, gift cards, email/SMS/social marketing, promotions and offers, SEO, and guest CRM. Grow also includes a Marketing Agent in beta that helps generate campaign assets and strategy recommendations based on POS and transaction data. Monthly performance reporting and planning sessions are part of the service.
Toast IQ Grow is bundled together for $499 per month, based on current public pricing. This flat rate includes AI tools (Marketing Agent), Digital Storefront Pro features, Advertising Pro, loyalty, gift cards, managed marketing services and support from a Marketing Success Manager. Ad spend and any flat delivery fees are additional to this base cost.
Toast IQ Team pricing is not published publicly on Toast’s website at this time. You can request a quote or use a free demo to get pricing specific to your business.
Businesses suited for Toast IQ Team include those with significant hourly labor and scheduling complexity—such as multi-shift restaurants, quick service chains, casual dining, retail stores. Roles that benefit include Operations Managers, HR Leads, Finance Managers and Owners who need to predict labor demand, control overtime, manage tip distribution, and provide employees transparency on schedules and pay.
Toast IQ Grow serves business owners and marketing professionals who seek to attract new guests, retain customers, and centralize your marketing execution. It suits establishments with an online presence—fast casuals, delivery-heavy restaurants, or those trying to boost direct ordering. It’s especially valuable for operators who prefer to outsource or share the burden of marketing strategy and creative work while maintaining control through expert support and detailed reporting.
Toast IQ Team and Toast IQ Grow each tackle different—but related—pain points for businesses in the hospitality and retail sector. Team focuses on the internal operations: labor, payroll, scheduling, and employee engagement—areas that can eat into profitability if mismanaged. Grow, in contrast, appeals to outward-facing growth: attracting customers, increasing frequency, and maximizing marketing ROI.
The pricing of Grow at $499 per month appears competitive when compared with managing separate tools or agencies, especially given the inclusion of human support and full marketing stack integration. The lack of publicly listed pricing for Team means decision-makers will need to obtain quotes to assess ROI properly. In both cases, prospective users should evaluate current staff and tech capabilities to ensure their organization can leverage the AI agents, required permissions, and content workflows.
In sum, Toast IQ Team and Toast IQ Grow represent tightly integrated, AI-enhanced modules for labor and growth, respectively. For businesses wrestling with scheduling inefficiencies or marketing fragmentation, they offer more unified paths forward—provided the terms align with scale, budget, and readiness to adopt managed, AI-assisted operations.
