Google removed 483.7 million ads and suspended 1.7 million advertiser accounts in India in 2025, according to its latest Ads Safety Report, reflecting continued enforcement efforts across its advertising platforms amid evolving abuse tactics.
The report outlines how the ads safety landscape is being reshaped by advancements in artificial intelligence, emerging forms of misuse, and shifting global conditions. These factors have contributed to increasingly sophisticated violations, requiring ongoing updates to detection and enforcement mechanisms.
Among the most common policy violations in India were trademark misuse, financial services-related infractions, copyright violations, personalization breaches, and abuse of the ad network. These categories collectively accounted for a significant portion of enforcement actions during the year.
Google said it relied on updated AI systems, including its Gemini models, alongside partnerships across the ecosystem, to identify and act against harmful or misleading advertising. The company positioned these efforts as part of a broader attempt to maintain trust in online advertising as a reliable information channel.
The report also highlights the scale at which enforcement operates, pointing to the volume of removed ads and suspended accounts as an indicator of both the prevalence of violations and the intensity of monitoring.
While the company emphasizes ongoing improvements, the data underscores the persistent challenges in moderating digital advertising at scale, particularly as bad actors adopt more advanced techniques.
