Over the weekend, content creators, entrepreneurs, professionals and aspiring content producers walked into the maiden Kreativ U AI Content Creation Masterclass, held in collaboration with CEIBS Africa.
Many of them had tried artificial intelligence before and bounced off it. By the next morning, some of them had published their first AI-generated videos.
Facilitated by Nadia Daniel-Wilson, Founder and Lead Instructor of Kreativ U, the masterclass was pitched at people who had felt overwhelmed by the sheer volume of AI tools and tutorials.
Rather than a tour of every platform on the market, the session focused on a practical workflow: the right tools, a storytelling framework to give the output meaning, and enough hands-on time for participants to leave with something they had actually made.
Participants were introduced to practical AI tools for storytelling, image generation, video creation and wider content development, then given the hands-on time to test those tools themselves and produce their own work during and immediately after the class.
Daniel-Wilson brought more than a decade of content creation experience to the room, including the illusion-style content that grew her own audience. That background shaped the teaching: less theory, more “here is how you do it, now do it.”
“My favourite part was watching people go from being unsure about AI to actually creating their own images, videos and stories in the room. The goal was not just to introduce tools, but to give people the confidence to start creating for themselves,” she said.
The reviews that came in over the following days told the story better than any agenda could.
Seyram, who runs the Investment Friend platform, arrived on Saturday as a complete beginner and released an AI short film titled “Everyone Has an Opinion” the next day. He described being fascinated by what becomes possible when technology, storytelling and financial education meet, and admitted that Film 2 was already in the works.
Rachia called the session a game changer, describing it as practical, easy to follow and packed with strategies she could use immediately.
Lady Dadzie of Dermal Skin had paid for several AI classes before and never found a way in. This session according to her, was the one for her. She spent the night after the class replaying what she had learned and testing it out, and she has already asked for a follow-up session.
